Democrats to Caucus to Elect Delegates to the 2017 State Convention

Framingham (2/8/17) – Democrats in Framingham will be holding a caucus on Sunday February 12th, at the Framingham Green, 136 Maynard Road, Framingham, MA, to elect delegates to the 2017 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Doors will open at 6PM for registration, and election of delegates to the state convention will begin at 7 PM. The sign-in deadline for candidates to register will be 7:15 sharp. Candidates and those voting for them must be registered as Democrats.

The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Framingham, and the Democratic Town Committee welcomes participants. Framingham will elect 36 delegates and 6 alternates. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women, and all ballots will be written and secret. Youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates. This year, the Massachusetts Democratic Convention will be held Saturday, June 3rd at the Tsongas Center at UMass/Lowell. This year’s convention will be an Issues and Platform Convention, and will feature Forums, organizing workshops, exciting speakers and more.

There will be no charity collection this month, but in March the Committee will be accepting donations to the ARC of Massachusetts in honor and memory of Susie Spilka, the late sister of Senator Karen Spilka.
