Framingham (2/29/20) – The Framingham Democratic Committee, which will hold a
caucus on Sunday March 8, 2020, at 2:00 PM to elect registered Democrats as
delegates and alternates to the 2020 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention has
had to change the venue for this event. The caucus will now be held at the Anketell
Auditorium at Framingham High School, 115 A Street, Framingham. Doors open at
1:00, with registration from 1:00 to 2:00, and a deadline of no further registrants at 2:15

“Because of the intense interest in this election and based upon the extremely high
attendance at other caucuses held so far in surrounding towns, we were afraid that the
Costin Room was not going to be able to accommodate our attendees. We thank the
Framingham School Department for being so accommodating and look forward to a day
of democracy at its best,” said Beverly Hugo, Chairwoman of the Framingham
Democratic Committee.

This year’s state convention will be held May 30th at the Tsongas Arena at UMass
Lowell, where thousands of Democrats from across the state will come together to
discuss Party business and vote to endorse a candidate for the United States Senate
seat currently held by Senator Ed Markey, and celebrate our successes and strategy as
we prepare for upcoming elections.

The caucus is open to all registered and pre-registered Democrats in Framingham. Pre-
registered Democrats who are youth and who will be 16 years of age by February 15,

2020, will be allowed to participate and run as a delegate or as an alternate provided
that they are pre-registered by the time of the caucus and must provide proof of their
pre-registration. Framingham will elect 34 delegates and 6 alternates to the Convention.

In addition Framingham’s allotted 34 Delegates and six alternates, registered and pre-
registered youth, minorities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ individuals who are not elected as a delegate or alternate may apply to be an add-on delegate at the caucus or
