Welcome/Announcements: B. Hugo – Thank you for all that you do for our organization and the nation. State Rep. Maria Robinson ill with flu symptoms, wishing her a quick recovery. May 19, 2019, regular meeting, elect delegates to State Convention, September 13-14, 2019, Mass Mutual Center 1277 Main St., Springfield, MA. Mass Democratic Party, chair, Gus Bickford, State committee meetings, April 6, 2019, & August 24, 2019. March 30-31, 2019, Democratic Campaign Institute, workshop- Roxbury Community College.

Meeting Minutes – Sunday, January 13, 2019

Call to Order: Beverly Hugo, Chair, called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM
Welcome/Announcements: Thank you for what you do. Reminder that on January
20, 2019, Campaign Finance Reports are due; May 1, 2019 Nomination Papers will be
available at City Hall; Swearing in ceremonies upcoming at the State House for State
Rep. Jack P. Lewis, State Rep. Maria D. Robinson & Senate Pres. Karen Spilka.
Hospitality – Amanda Northrop is to be commended for her service. There is now an
opening for the head. Reminder that Membership Dues will be due by April 1st:
Members $20; Associate Members $15, if able to pay. Please talk to our Treasurer
Larry if you need the fee waived, no questions asked; Total – 80 members, Associate
and Life.

Call to Order:  Beverly Hugo, Chair, called the meeting to order at 7:04 PM

Announcements:  Every month a charity to benefit.  Next month, December, Pathways Family Shelter.

SMOC – social service agency; federal/state funding; variety of programs – provide community support, housing; shelters.

Tania DiDuca – SMOC Chief of state staff over 15 years; Leslie Lee – programming.  Shelters – Gordon St, Pearl St and Clinton St helping families (8-16) to stabilize and become part of the community.  Drop-In  Center – downtown; Turning Point – chronic homelessness.  Needs for Family and Individual Shelters (handout include diapers, personal care items).  Volunteer application on website.(Read more…)

Diana Goswami – Field Director for Elizabeth Warren for Senate.  From Sudbury, worked in Washington, D.C.   GOTV/Coordinated Campaign.  Office 1071 Worcester Rd., Framingham, 01701.

Guest Speaker – Quentin Palfrey, Democratic Nominee for Lt. Governor.  L. Bornstein hosted a party for Quentin Palfrey. Invest in youth, communities of color, first-time voters; “Diversity is our strength.”  Jay has a vision – investing in transportation and early childhood education; gov’t that leads; make a difference at local level.
