Framingham Add-On Delegates for 2018 DSC

Nine Framingham Democrats Selected for Add-On Delegates

In addition to Framingham’s elected delegation, 9 Democrats from Framingham will also attend the 2018 Democratic State Convention in Worcester as add-on delegates.  The Massachusetts Democratic Party grants additional delegates for under-represented demographics.  The following add-on applicants were selected by the Democratic State Committee:

FRAMINGHAM DEMOCRATS ELECT NEW OFFICERS

 

FRAMINGHAM (4/22/18) The Framingham Democratic Town Committee elected a new slate of officers on Sunday night.  Beverly Hugo was re-elected as Chair for a second two-year term.  Ms. Hugo is a eleven-year member of the Framingham School Committee, representing District 1, and has served five years as School Committee Chair.  She is currently the President of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and serves as representative on behalf of ten northeastern states, the District of Columbia and the US Virgin Islands on the National School Boards Association’s National Policy Subcommittee.  Ms. Hugo has previously served as Treasurer and Vice Chair of the Democratic Committee and was the Administrator of the Metrowest Coordinated Campaign office during the last Presidential election.(Read more…)

Framingham DTC Re-Organization April 22

The Framingham DTC held its annual meeting on Sunday April 22 where biennial election of officers took place.  FDTC member Mel Warshaw presented the Nomination Committee’s report, recommending candidates for the 2018-2020 term. The report was accepted unanimously and the following officers were elected without opposition:

Karen Spilka To Become Senate President

Spilka has secured the votes to become President of the Massachusetts Senate

It was reported in local news that Framingham’s State Senator Karen Spilka (D-Ashland) has the votes to become President of the State Senate in 2019.  Karen Spilka was first elected to the Massachusetts Senate in 2004 after serving as State Representative in the House for several terms.  Over the years she has risen up the leadership ladder that includes her current role as Chair of the Senate Ways and Means Committee.

This is an exciting moment for Framingham and the 2nd Middlesex Norfolk district that Karen represents in the Senate.
