May Business Meeting Updates

Winett Elected FDC Member

At the May 21, 2023 business meeting of the Framingham Democratic Committee Joel Winett was elected to fill a vacancy in the FDC membership.  Winett was also assigned to serve on the by-laws subcommittee.

Another membership vacancy was announced and two associate members, Isabella Petroni and Leslie White Harvey. were nominated.  The nomination for this seat remains open and will be closed at the next business meeting.

A brief business meeting will be held following the caucus on June 11th to close nominations for the vacant seat and also to organize for the summer voter registration/information table that FDC operates at the Friday night concerts.

Khan Receives Appointment From Biden

FDC member will serve on Advisory Committee on the Arts

Shahid Khan, member of the Framingham Democratic Committee, has been appointed by President Biden to the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts.

Shahid has been active in Democratic politics for nearly 3 decades and was instrumental in mobilizing and involving the South Asian-American community in the Biden for President campaign.

Caucus 2023

2023 Democratic City Caucus – UPDATED

The 2023 Framingham Democratic caucus will be held on Sunday June 11th at the Framingham Public Library, Costin Room.  The library is located at 49 Lexington Street close to City Hall.

The purpose of this caucus is to elect Framingham’s delegation to the 2023 Massachusetts Democratic State Convention.

Registration desk will open at 1:30pm, the caucus call-to-order will be at 2pm.  Registration closes at 2:15pm.

Shulman Honored On May 25

To Receive Framingham Senior Hero Award

FDC member Norma Shulman will be among the honorees at the 2023 Framingham Senior Heroes Awards.  Shulman will be recognized for her efforts in Public Service.

The award ceremony is at the Callahan Senior Center on May 25th.  Attendance by invitation only.  RSVP: 508-532-5980 by May 10th.
