FDC Educates Voters On Project 2025

By Norma Shulman

In addition to our usual concert tent projects of offering voter registration, mail-in ballot applications, the map of Framingham precincts/districts/state representatives districts, and candidates’ information, the Framingham Democratic Committee used its tent at the Friday night concerts this summer to educate the public about Project 2025. We created a “Voting Booth” for anyone to read about the provisions of Project 2025 and vote for the “3 worst ideas on the Project 2025 agenda.” Over 70 people voted, while others declined to vote saying they couldn’t just choose 3. The “winners” were (1) banning abortion, (2) packing SCOTUS with their approved judges, and (3) ending climate protections. Every one of the 32 items on the poster got at least one vote! We also gave out stickers with the QR code that accesses a link to information about Project 2025.

The “Voting Booth” has visited events in several other communities and at a Democratic State Committee meeting, and will continue to travel to spread the word about this Heritage Foundation project.

We are now distributing lawn signs for people to display to share this information about Project 2025 with their neighbors, in addition to distributing Harris/Walz and Elizabeth Warren lawn signs.
