Framingham (1/23/18) – Democrats in Framingham will be holding a caucus on Sunday, February 11th, at Framingham Heritage Senior Assisted Living, 747 Water Street, Framingham, to elect delegates to the 2018 Massachusetts Democratic Convention. Doors will open at 6PM for registration, and elections of delegates to the state convention will begin promptly at 7 PM. Registration will close at 7:15 PM sharp. Delegates and those voting for them must be registered as Democrats on or before that date. Those registering as Democrats after January 1, 2018 are strongly urged to bring the receipt provided by the City Clerk, with them.
This year, the Convention will be held Friday and Saturday, June 1st and 2nd at the DCU Center in Worcester. Framingham will elect 36 delegates and 6 alternates. This year’s convention will be a “Nominating Convention” and will be packed with candidates’ speeches, exciting guest speakers and more.
The caucus is open to all registered Democrats in Framingham, and the Democratic Town Committee welcomes all participants. Delegates will be divided equally between men and women. Youth, minorities, and people with disabilities who are not elected as delegates or alternates may apply to be “add-on” delegates.
