AG Webinar: Identity Theft Protection

The Community Engagement Division of the Office of Attorney General Maura Healey will be conducting its next webinar on Tuesday May 7th at 10:30am.  The topic for this webinar is “Identity Theft and Scams Prevention Webinar Presentation”.

This presentation will educate consumers on how to protect personal information to prevent identity theft and about the steps to take when identity theft is discovered.

JFK Scholarship Award – Applications Accepted

Mass Democratic Party Accepting Applicants For the JFK Scholarship

The Massachusetts Democratic Party has announced it is accepting applications for the JFK Scholarship and Joe Moakley Internship Programs.

These are two scholarships and six paid internship opportunities to all students enrolled in college or post-secondary programs and 2019 college graduates and post-secondary certificate holders who are residents of Massachusetts and registered Democrats.

Application deadline is Wednesday May 1, 2019 by 5pm.

Delegate Selection For 2020 DNC

The Massachusetts Democratic Party has released its delegate selection plan for 2020 delegates attending the Democratic National Convention. (The DNC will be held in July 2020 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.)

Massachusetts will be represented by 114 delegates and 8 alternates at the 2020 DNC.  Of this 114 delegates, 59 pledged delegates will be elected at the Congressional District caucus taking place in April next year.  The remaining 55 delegates consist of at-large delegates, and unpledged or “super” delegates.  The at-large delegates will be elected at the Democratic State Committee meeting in May of 2020.

AG Webinar: Landlord & Tenant Rights

The Office of the Attorney General, Community Engagement Division (CED) is conducting webinars as a continued effort to inform the public about its resources. The CED can conduct additional webinars for service organizations and agencies upon request.

The next scheduled webinar takes place on Tuesday April 9th at 10:30am on the topic of Landlord-Tenant Rights and Responsibilities. 

The presentation will outline rental agreement considerations, as well as rules regarding types of tenancies, payments, evictions, habitable living conditions, and housing discrimination. It is important for both landlords and tenants to understand the laws and regulations that govern all aspects of rental arrangements.
