Robinson –Nicky’s Law – to Governor’s desk. Issues: Transportation revenue – tolls, fares,
gas tax. Progressive tasks; pushing 93/95 tolling tax; Roe Act – protect and expand,
“fighting to keep in current form.”
City Council: new members – Margareth Shepard, Adam Steiner; majority are FDC
members; G. King, chair, A. Steiner, vice-chair. Robert Case. Prisilla Sousa – clerk, rules subcom. Rules of City Council. Next meeting Tuesday, January 14, 2020.
School Committee: Issues/concerns – Student Achievement accountability; curriculum
audit by Johns Hopkins; SAGE and Talented & Gifted – revitalized.

Environmental Bills & Initiatives at State House. Rep. Maria D. Robinson – climate
related actions – priority. Tuesday, January 14, 2020 – hearing – carbon pricing. Climate
mitigation bill. Progressive tax; gas tax; public transporation – expand bus transportation
South/North, Metrowest; electric buses. 100% renewal bill; MSBA – all new construction
solar ready; ; energy efficiency for existing buildings; “look at laws from climate lens”; more
advocacy. Driver’s license for immigrants.
Comments: C. Rubin – surge spills; pipe infrastructure; sewage – dealing with the problem
& source of problem. L. Stoodt – “we have the technology” C. Tully Stoll –any discussion of
state level re: recycling; landfills. Rep. Maria D. Robinson – “not much conversation”; J.
Duffy – high cost of living, high taxes, make corrections. Rep. Maria D. Robinson –
progressive taxes – constant discussion, 93/95 tolling tax.

Communications: M. Hugo. Yahoo group down 11:59 PST, 1/31/2020. Next meeting –
week of Jan. 13, 2020 discuss replacing Yahoo Group. Facebook Group links to fundraising
for presidential candidates. Ohad will assist in revamping Facebook Group Page. Expand
contributor post; 5 Fundamental questions? (G. Holbrow). Preliminary exploration of
purchasing ads to bring more to Facebook Group, could increase membership (J. Hansen) C.
Tully-Stoll- suggest Instagram. Welcome any support/assistance- M. Hugo.

Civics Ed– mtg at Bev H home re: Convener

Enviromental/Climate Change – L. Stoodt : Members: J. Hansen, D. Laurence, A.
Steiner, V. Pendexter, C. Rubin, L. Bornstein, P. Sousa. – L. Stoodt- will contact. Thank
you.
Hospitality– A. Northrop – requesting/need assistance
Programming & Charity- R. Hooper-Hamersley- absent but sent note re: absence &
future programming.
L. Fields- suggest clearing student lunch debt $79,000 contact business manager.
Les Miserables – FHS Drama- received top reviews (Jan 10, 11, 16, 17 & 18).
Organizing Corps 2020 – Metrowest raised $20,035 -> 35,000(goal)
